By the mid 1980s, the era of theatrical hardcore features was winding down. With budgets shrinking, directors committed to shooting on film often chose to focus on smaller sets or single location films, while attempting to include as much star power as they could get. The results, while not on the scope of the low to mid-six-figure productions from a few years earlier, were still marked by high production values, clever scripting, and consistent entertainment. Peekarama presents two underseen efforts from the autumn days of the âgolden age.â
Terry Schaffer has just gotten a job as a live-in au pair for a sex-crazed couple, Harvey and Mag Woodman. Determined to serve and satisfy their every need, Terry soon becomes a non-stop sexual dynamo, as friends and neighbors alike are itching to get in on the action... but her greatest curiosity lies with the Woodmanâs heftily-endowed robot, Woody. Marked by highly stylized photography and a rich original synth score, Mark Davisâ sole theatrical feature, AMBER AROUSED (or, as it was originally titled, âArousedâ) features some of the biggest names in mid â80s LA hardcore, among them Amber Lynn (Trashy Lady), Crystal Breeze (Evils of the Night), Herschel Savage (Bodies in Heat), Shauna Michele (Little Girls Lost), and Pamela Jennings (Sounds of Sex) and comes to for the first time, newly restored in 2K from its 35mm camera negative.
Silk, a late-night radio talk show host, is worried that her conniving colleague, Sylvia (whoâs having an affair with the station manager), is planning to steal her show. Determining that the best way to up her ratings is to add a hefty dose of eroticism to her broadcasts, Silk is soon the hottest thing on the airways! A light-hearted and star-studded comedy directed by prolific cinematographer R. Michael Stringer (Double Exposure), SLIP INTO SILK features Kelly Nichols (In Love), Jamie Gillis (Waterpower), Gina Carrera (Stiff Competition), Laurie Smith (Matinee Idol), and many more and has been newly restored in 2K from its 16mm interpositive. âą Region Free
